Clarity Partners is a Nairobi-based consultancy firm focused on supporting non-profits and SMEs in their growth, especially around fundraising, partnerships, project design and managements, and impact.

Our project leads have experience working with for-profits, large corporates, social enterprises, iNGOs, and small non-profits in a variety of countries.

Claire Baker

Whilst Claire is half French and half English by heritage, she is fully Nairobian by choice, and has been in Kenya for long enough to feel right at home in the city. She has previously honed her fundraising and partnerships skills in non-profits and social enterprises in Kenya, France, Tanzania and Spain, and has a degree in Modern Languages from Durham University England.

She has led an award-winning French non-profit (Jaccede.com), contributed to establishing the first investor and partner relations for a Tanzanian-European for-profit, overseen finance and operations for a social enterprise in Kenya, helped to build a digital media foundation, and provided consultancy services to international social enterprises, startups and NGOs. Claire speaks fluent French, English and Spanish, and is a keen marathoner and ultra marathoner, as well as dancer, reader, cook, and writer.

Gemma May

Gemma has always been a fundraiser, from raising money at school for natural disasters to hosting parties at university for wildlife charities, it was always a natural progression to do this as a career, combining her passion for sensible development projects that uplift others, with her love of storytelling. Gemma has raised money for organisations in Kenya, Tanzania, South Sudan, Uganda and for many UK NGOs.

She has worked with social enterprises and startups. Her biggest win was with Mastercard Foundation with a $9 million grant secured in just under 3 months. Her main area of focus is youth and refugee programs and she has extensive experience in raising money for scholarships through corporations and high net-worth individuals. Gemma speaks Kiswahili and is a keen gym addict! She is currently studying MSc Public Policy and Management at SOAS, University of London.

Amy Galland

Amy Galland, PhD MBA is the principal of Empower Venture Partners – a consulting services company based in Nairobi and the US, and has almost two decades of experience providing entrepreneurs, investors, and NGOs strategy, sustainability, impact, communications, fundraising, and analysis expertise.

A successful grant writer, she brings a laser focus to aligning an organization’s activities with its desired outcomes and guides organizations to monitor and communicate the impacts of their programs.
